The knives will no doubt be getting sharpened right now so in advance of that let me say, this is no disrespect to any other shows that have belts but the number of belts and rankings available make it confusing to the bigger shows promoters. It will be open to fighters from around the world who are as yet unknown over here but it will  be a European title.....but a title where there can be no doubt in your ability, if you hold it.

How will you know it is the best 8? well we will rank them and if you believe you are a great fighter and should be in there, then make an application as all applications will be dealt with, none will be overlooked. If you don't apply then you can't say, I should hold that belt, because now is your chance! All that we ask is that  promoters or managers do not prevent fighters from competeing because of contracts etc as we will not hold an exclusive contract over any of the champions after the events (unless they want one and it is prudent to do so) The only stipulation is that you come back the following year and defend your title or step down on the start date of the new tournament.

MAX
EUROPEAN GRAND PRIX

MAX Xtreme Fighting will create the first tournament style European Championship in the new MAX European Grand Prix events. The competition will enable MAX to create 3 brand new champions in three weight classes. Eight fighters in each weight class will compete over three shows to earn the Grand Prix Title Belts.

This will be the first meaningful title in Europe and the best fighters in each category will be invited to compete. The MAX Grand Prix events will eliminate any dispute in regards to who is the best in each weight category and give a legitimate European title to each champion.

Eight fighters in the LW, WW and LHW will face off in event one in an elimination bout with the winners moving onto Event two. This will leave 12 fighters competing to move into the final 6 and the grand finale, where they will be crowned the MAX European Grand Prix Champions 2008.

The MAX European Grand Prix will be a yearly event with the title holder earning automatic entry into the competition to defend their championship belt.

On line applications will be taken and each fighter must present their credentials to be considered for the competition. Fighters will be judged on fight record and calibre of opponents and be given a rating to determine their position in the rankings. The top eight will be invited to compete and if any of the top eight pass on the opportunity then the next fighter in the ranking system will be eligible to take a place. Final selection will be at the discretion of the MAX ranking panel. Only fighters who apply on the official MAX ranking application will be ranked by the panel. MAX Panel decisions will be final.
